Alliance Sends Health Care Reform Feedback to Congressional Leaders

01/12/2010

The Alliance sent a letter providing feedback on the two health care reform bills being merged in Congress. The Alliance is concerned with language in the bill that would create an Independent Medicare Advisory Board, as it would focus solely in cutting costs and lacks proper oversight and clinical expertise. The Alliance also urges Congress to address the Medicare physician reimbursement crisis and expresses interest in working with Congress to see that a long-term and fair reimbursement model is adopted before the February 28th expiration of the current patch. The letter also includes feedback on comparative effectiveness research language and provisions that cover quality, medical liability reform and transparency in physician/industry relationships.
