In November 2016, the Alliance of Specialty Medicine testified at a two-day hearing held by the Food and Drug Administration on “Manufacturer Communications Regarding Unapproved Uses of Approved or Cleared Medical Products.” Following that hearing, the Alliance updated its position statement on physician-directed applications.
