Like most small businesses across the country, independent physicians’ offices have seen a sudden and sharp drop in revenues, due to the postponement of elective procedures and millions of people, including patients, wisely remaining home as much as they can. To ensure practices can remain open for patients through this crisis and beyond, the Alliance of Specialty Medicine sent a letter to Senate and House leadership, urging them to include financial relief for independent physicians’ offices in the third COVID-19 relief bill. Requested policies include key changes to existing Small Business Administration loans, delay of employer payroll taxes, and loans for severely affected sectors.
