The Alliance of Specialty Medicine, representing over 100,000 specialty physicians, supports H.R. 879, the Medicare Patient Access and Practice Stabilization Act. This legislation aims to eliminate a 2.83% cut to the Medicare physician fee schedule and provide an inflationary update for 2025. The Alliance emphasizes the need for stable Medicare physician reimbursements to ensure financial stability, maintain practices, and ensure patient access to care. They also highlight the negative impacts of ongoing reimbursement cuts, such as limiting Medicare patient access, consolidating practices, and early retirements. The Alliance has been a longtime proponent of stabilizing the Medicare payment system.  This bill is an important first step.  The full letter can be accessed by clicking on the link below.
