In a letter to the eight bipartisan cosponsors, the Alliance of Specialty Medicine endorsed H.R. 10073,  the Medicare Patient Access and Practice Stabilization Act of 2024.

This legislation would eliminate the 2.8% cut to the Medicare physician fee schedule and provide an inflationary update for 2025. The Alliance emphasized the need for stable and predictable Medicare physician reimbursements to address financial challenges, maintain practices, and ensure patient access to care. They highlight the negative impacts of ongoing reimbursement cuts, such as limiting Medicare patient access, consolidating practices, and early retirements. The Alliance also expressed their appreciation for the representatives’ leadership on this issue.  The entire letter can be accessed by clicking on the link below.
