The Alliance of Specialty Medicine wrote a letter to Rep. Morgan Griffith (R-VA) thanking him for the introduction of H.R. 1703, the Medical Products Communications Act.  The legislation would set clear parameters on what constitutes a “scientific exchange” by which a manufacturer of a medicine or a medical device could share data related to that drug or device′s off-label use.  H.R. 1703 pushes back on the Food and Drug Administration′s currently negative characterization of off-label and strikes the right balance on data sharing in order to benefit patients.
