The Alliance of Specialty medicine sent a letter to Secretary Azar related to a recent Executive Order directing the Department of Health and Human Services to test a so-called “Most Favored Nation” approach to drug pricing in Medicare Parts B and D. The Alliance letter reiterates the Administration’s 2017 guiding principles for demonstration projects, including a focus on voluntary participation and small scale testing. Additionally, the letter urges the Administration to ensure that any access or quality issues can be quickly remedied, particularly given the seriousness of conditions treated by specialty medicines.
