The Alliance of Specialty Medicine wrote to the leadership of the House and Senate as well as committee leaders to protest the Medicare Part B Drug Payment Model as proposed by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
The specialty docs are concerned with the adverse effects this rule will have on the care and treatment of patients. Specifically, many patients under a specialist′s care face complex treatment options and should not be subject to mandatory participation in an initiative that will force them from their most appropriate form of treatment for financial reasons.
Accordingly, the Alliance urges Congress to request CMS withdrawl the Part B rule from consideration.
