On September 4th, the Alliance sent a letter to CMS Administrator Verma, expressing its opposition to the Administration’s recent decision to allow step therapy in Medicare Part B starting in 2019. The Administration proposed this significant change to Part B via a memo that has no formal commenting opportunity and leaves many implementation questions unanswered. This is insufficient to ensure the protection of vulnerable patients who need access to Part B medications.
