The Alliance of Specialty Medicine wrote to members of the US Senate thanking them for introducing the EHR Regulatory Relief Act. The legislation seeks to address ongoing problems with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ (CMS) Meaningful Use program for electronic health records or EHR. While many provider organizations and medical societies have asked CMS to address these concerns, CMS has not adequately responded. The EHR Regulatory Relief Act offers needed changes that are necessary for the successful deployment of EHRs, which is a goal everyone in the healthcare community shares.
