The Alliance of Specialty Medicine sent a letter to the National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform today urging significant caution related to any recommendations to cut costs which may adversely impact access to quality health care. The Alliance also highlighted additional cost cutting mechanisms effecting physicians and their ability to provide quality health care services to their patients, such as the Independent Payment Advisory Board and Medicare’s Sustainable Growth Rate formula.
