In this edition of On Call, we cover issues and advocacy work important to specialty care. Front and center once again is Medicare reimbursement, as the 3.4% cut in physician pay went into effect on January 1. The Alliance continues to work with Congress on reversing this harmful cut and also on long-term solutions to the Medicare payment system. Another top issue for specialty medicine practice is the reform of the prior authorization system. The Alliance was pleased to see CMS enacting regulations on prior auth reform and will continue to work with Members of Congress on this issue.
