In our first edition of 2023, On Call leads off with our 2023 federal advocacy agenda. This year the Alliance will continue to fight for a stable Medicare payment system as well as reforms to utilization management systems like prior authorization and step therapy. In January, The Alliance was invited to a CMS roundtable to discuss regulatory reforms to prior authorization. Reductions in Medicare payments and abuses in prior authorization and step therapies are barriers to patient care, and we will support legislation and regulations that address these issues. The Alliance also welcomes its newest member, The Society for Interventional Radiology, and in this edition we have a discussion of electronic health records by two neurosurgeons.
