The Alliance of Specialty Medicine wrote to Reps. Phil Roe (R-TN) and Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) offering support for their bill, H.R. 1766, the Medical Practice Freedom Act.  This legislation would prohibit the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) or any state from requiring a health care provider, as a condition of the provider’s licensure, to participate in a health plan or comply with requirements for meaningful use electronic health records.
